If your Nespresso Pixie is not piercing capsules, first separate a capsule-position problem from a water-flow problem. Nespresso notes that an air bubble can block water flow on Pixie machines, especially after the tank has run dry or the machine has been unused for a while.
Quick checks
- Remove the capsule and inspect it for obvious deformation.
- Make sure the capsule chamber is clear and the used-capsule container is not overfull.
- Insert a fresh Original-line compatible capsule and close the lever normally. Do not force it.
- If the lever will not close, check for a capsule blocked inside the machine.

If the capsule is not punctured at all

To reprime the circuit:
- Fill and correctly position the water tank.
- Eject any capsule.
- Close the lever.
- Press the Lungo/large-cup button and allow the machine time to move water.

Can scale cause the problem?
Scale can reduce water flow, and Nespresso recommends descaling when flow becomes low. However, descaling does not mechanically repair a damaged piercing mechanism. Use the official Nespresso descaling procedure and descaling kit rather than vinegar.

Capsule compatibility
